I’m Jessie, the owner of Big Stars Theatre School.
I have always had a passion and love for performing. Throughout my childhood, I attended dance sessions, drama groups and singing classes. I have taken part in so many performances and productions and hold lots of qualifications in different aspects of music and performance. I began working as a class helper in a theatre school at just 14 years old, I then went on to become a teaching assistant, teacher and then finally I took over the business in January 2017 and rebranded as Big Stars Theatre School. Since starting up
Big Stars I have put my heart and soul into every single performance, class, workshop and event, allowing the company to expand, thrive and flourish. I have 13 years of teaching experience and wouldn’t change my job for the world! Whilst my passion for performance still exists it has changed more to a passion for teaching children and seeing them share the same love for the arts as I do. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing my students flourish in performance and talent and more importantly confidence and social skills.
I'm Steph, a dance and drama teacher at Big Stars Theatre School.
I have a Level 3 Diploma in Dance and 5 years teaching experience. I have danced with a competitive team since I was 14 and I am trained in an array of styles. I have performed with different theatre companies and appeared in several music videos. I am currently studying for my HNC. I have worked in the fitness and leisure industry for the last 3 years as well as teaching and performing, health and well-being are very important to me. I thrive watching children develop their skills and passion.
Elisa has been singing for almost 10 years now with a distinction in her Grade 5 Music Theory exam and her Grade 8 Musical Theatre exam. She has previously performed as a guest soloist in concerts hosted by Flintshire county council as well as winning Fleetwood Festival’s Musical Theatre Competition.
I'm Sophie, a performing arts teacher for Big Stars. I am a University of Chester Graduate with a first-class degree in Performing Arts with prior training in Musical Theatre and LAMDA acting. Whilst at University, I explored local opportunities as a performer, and I was delighted to be a member of the 2023 Storyhouse Young Company. Alongside my studies, I enjoyed teaching Children’s drama and musical theatre classes as a freelancer in various settings. This grew from my love for performing arts from an early age. I participated in all the school shows and joined a local drama group where I grew up in the midlands. I studied and completed my LAMDA Acting exams there achieving my grade 8 Gold with a distinction and continued my time there as an assistant and then a teacher before I relocated to Chester for University. Since leaving University I have been involved in TIE (theatre in education), party hosting and regular teaching work. I really enjoy using my skills to encourage and mentor the development of other children in the performing arts.
I’m Tia, a performing arts teacher for Big Stars Theatre School. I studied musical theatre in Liverpool and have a first class BA Hons degree in Musical Theatre. Since the age of 2 I have performed upon stages around the uk and internationally with my dance school, North Wales School of Dance. I have competed and achieved professional awards including a bronze medal in the Dance World Cup in Barcelona. I have performed in many established theatres for a wide range of musical productions, become a locally beloved Taylor Swift tribute act and travelled the uk to sing in the well known harmony trio called the D-Day Dolls.
Although my love for performing holds the biggest space in my heart, a dream to follow in my mother’s footsteps and become a teacher is something I’ve always wanted to do. So I am grateful to Big Stars that I have the opportunity to do so. I wish to make an impression on the next generation of theatre kids by improving their creative skills, empowering their individuality and teaching them not to express themselves through the superpower that is the arts.
Hi I'm Rhiannon, I’m a performing arts teacher at Big Stars.
I have always loved performing from a young age and in my adult life
My favourite performances have been Alice Fitzwarren from Dick Whittington and Jasmine from Aladdin; both in pantomime.
For the last 10 years I have performed, as part of my own company, as many different characters focusing on children's entertainment in Chester and North Wales.
I first began teaching dance classes in my teens to children in the Denbighshire area and since then have taught dance and fitness classes across North Wales.
I have travelled to hundreds of schools pre covid across Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire and Flintshire to do the 'don't touch tell' shows.
With my experience in teaching and performing I have loved becoming a part of Big Stars, meeting the wonderful children and building their confidence, helping them to embrace their individuality and encouraging them to step outside of their comfort zones.
I’m Lauren, a performing arts and sports teacher at Big Stars Theatre School. From a young age, performing arts and teaching have both been huge passions of mine. Since the age of 4, I attended various performing arts schools and vocal coaching, which enabled me to perform in musicals including Grease and Our House, as well as secure the leading role in Fame at the age of 18. Additionally, I have a wealth of experience working with children of all ages, in both educational and extra curricular settings, teaching a range of subjects from drama to fitness and sport. I hold a first class BSc Psychology degree from Liverpool John Moores University, with my particular area of interest being child development and wellbeing. My degree paired with my passions for teaching, sport & performing arts, makes teaching theatre and sport to children and witnessing its positive impacts, a hugely rewarding and fulfilling job for myself.
I’m Rosie, a Makaton deliverer and teaching assistant at Bin Stars Theatre School.
I have been part of various performing arts schools since the age of six, allowing me to take part in a wide range of theatre, from musicals such as Cats to pantomime. I have a degree in Media studies and Theatre from Bangor University and recently completed my PGCE. Whilst on my teaching placement, I worked with young people who had additional learning needs. I was introduced to Makaton signing and now have completed a level 3 Makaton course. I also work in a high school as a TA, working one to one with students who need additional support. I enjoy working with children and young people because it’s always so rewarding to see them achieve and grow in confidence.
